Trip to the PSC Wiking St. Nicholas Regatta

Long after the sailing season has ended elsewhere, things heat up once again on Lake Templin: for over 40 years, the St. Nicholas Regatta hosted by PSC Wiking has been a firmly established highlight on the calendar for Pirat-class sailors.

In 2026, WEISSE FLOTTE Potsdam, in collaboration with PSC Wiking, will take fans and interested visitors out onto the water for the traditional ranking regatta. On the first weekend of December, sailors from across Germany and abroad will gather to compete for top rankings and bring the season to a close in a truly special way.

What began in 1980 with just eleven boats has long since become an established fixture. Today, the regatta draws around 100 participants to Potsdam every year. Conditions can vary wildly—from brilliant sunshine and dead calm to snow and strong winds. And, of course, the social gathering that follows is an essential part of the event.

Departure and arrival take place at the Potsdam harbor. The competitions are held on Lake Templin (Templiner See). The MS Belvedere will accompany the first two competitions (starting at 10:30 a.m.) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the third and fourth competitions (starting at 1:00 p.m.) from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mulled wine, non-alcoholic fruit punch, and pastries will be served on board.
